The name is a pun and can also mean The Naoki Prize (直木賞, naoki shou), which is another notable literary prize like the Akutagawa Prize.

"Literary Circles' Value Survey"... You are doing this again... *

The survey is real and was published in Bungei Shunjuu (Kikuchi Kan's famous literary magazine) in 1924 November. The survey was made humorously by Naoki about his fellow authors, but it enraged some people, Riichi being one of them.

Yokomitsu Riichi... Erudition: 49. Talent: 47. Cultivation: 44... Property: Kikuchi Kan. *

The survey had eleven evaluation categories: erudition, talent, cultivation, courage, appearance, popularity, property, strength, sexuality, women, future. The maximum score per category (minus property and women) was 100, 80 points was considered high/excellent. In the 1924 survey, Riichi's scores for the earlier mentioned categories were 70 for erudition, 60 for talent and 89 for cultivation. Kan listed as his property was the same.
